On November 18th Project Leotard took a trip to Monterrey Mexico to give out leotards to gymnasts in need. This campaign created by International Gymnastics Camp and Kount on Kindness brought so many smiles to the 88 gymnasts from all over Nuevo Leon.
With the help of Madrinas de San Pedro, which is a public organization that helps families in need, we gathered gymnasts from public gyms in Escobedo, Apodaca, Monterrey, and San Pedro.
We were able to hold a very special event at Plaza Cultural Fatima to give out the magnificent donation leos from Snowflake Designs, Dreamlight Activewear and International Gymnastics Camp. We were honored to have board members from Madrinas de San Pedro and from the government of San Pedro present to be part of the event.
Svetlana Boguinskaia had the chance to share a little bit of her background, as well as how much a new leotard meant to her when she was a young girl and what she hoped it would mean to all of the young gymnast receiving their leotards that day.
Handing out the leotards were Monica Avery, Svetlana Boguinskaia, Daniela Garzon and Sofia Garzon along with board members from the city. As a thank you, parents and gymnasts from different public clubs in the area brought flowers and traditional Mexican candy.
Newspapers from the city recognized the amazing work from Project Leotard and International Gymnastics Camp, with a specially thanks to Brent Klaus for this donation. Pictured are the Board Members, Monica Avery, Sofia Garzon, Svetlana Boguinskaia and Daniela Garzon with 88 of the gymnasts that received their new training leotards.
We would like to thank our partners, Snowflake Designs and Dreamlight Activewear for designing some of the beautiful leotards that were donated!
